An EXO Post is the simplest railing post on the market. It is designed using the smallest structural steel tube maximizing your view with 3x less surface area than any other railing system on the market.
All posts feature an unique proprietary swiveling top bracket enabling you to beautifully accommodate for irregularities in elevation, go up and down stairs, ramps, and more. The top bracket has 2 holes for mounting into our pre-finished Genuine Unistrut handrails, or any other handrail desired.
Also required for a seamless and strong installation when using a strut handrail is the internal strut nut plate for seamlessly joining straight runs longer than 20 feet, mitering corners, and going up and down stairs. View XRS to see the standard strut railing joiners and pre-finished handrails.

The simple beauty of the 1x1 tube is further amplified by it's perfect utilization of a Seamless Unistrut Handrail. Strut is, and has been the industry standard for structural modular attachment for over 100 years. We weld end caps onto the strut, blend it out beautifully, powdercoat then apply a ceramic coating to protect the galvanized channel for a lifetime of durable use.
There are 2 options for mounting the EXO Post to your deck - Top or Side.
The side mount post is the easiest post on the market to install. It has 3 holes that allow the installer to mount the post directly into the fascia with no welded flange. Simply scribe a line in the fascia where you want the post to be centered, and make sure it is at the proper height with your handrail. Screw them in and it's done. We supply internal tooth lock washers for under the screw head to prevent wearing the coating during installation and resist loosening. If standoffs are required to avoid interference with deck overhand or a drip edge, we can supply custom machined hardware with matching finish.
The top mount post has a rooftop formed baseplate with 4 holes welded to the bottom of the post and is covered by a beautiful chamfered cap to conceal the anchors. The holes are perfectly spaced for anchoring into side by side 2x lumber. To install simply slide the pre-installed base plate cap up and out of the way, holding it with a magnet or piece of scrap cable. Then place the post on center of the double 2x joists, installing them into the structural floor. Make sure the post is plum, adjusting the screw tension as needed to avoid ever needing shims. The base plate yields slightly by the screw torque and maintains tension so they will never loosen.
